In seven scenes set in South America, the film deals with the various conflicts and (power) relationships between men and women. The individual episodes also deal with specific female role models: the bride, the wife, the rival, the abandoned, the fiancée, the abused and the determined. The scenes show a passionate, romantic longing for love, but also the harsh reactions when a promise of happiness is not so easily fulfilled. It is about heartbreak and longing, jealousy and hatred, exploitation and self-inflicted submission. Nevertheless, the basic tone remains hopeful. The stylized images are structured by off-screen commentary and tango rhythms.

Love, it is said, always ends fatally - either for love or for the lovers. In his highly acclaimed portrait film, Georg Stefan Troller meets people who have murdered for love - or what they thought was love. Ella is just an ordinary cab-driver in Berlin, Germany. One day she meets Aleksej, a young Russian guy, who offers her DM 100.000 should she decide to marry him formally. Ella first delays answering, but when she finally decides to do it, it is too late. What Ella doesn't know is that Aleksej has stolen the Deutschmarks from his brother Jewjenij, crown-prince of the Moscow Mafia.

The single Christine Arnold, who works with great success as a commercial lawyer in a Cologne law firm, is on her way to her old friend Judith, who is going through a very difficult phase of her life: recently she has parted company with her longtime friend Felix. They have a son, Marco, who is very attached to his loving father. Whenever possible, the boy spends time with his dad. However, Judith would like to see that Marco also develops a friendly relationship with her new life partner Georg.
